#103: Finding Your Village with DJ Inspire

Season #3

“It takes a village to raise a child.” is an old saying I’m sure many of you have heard. We’re so worried about the judgment of other parents that when our kids misbehave, we spend more energy fighting them when that same energy should be spent on connecting with our kids and raising them.

So in this episode, I’m excited to be joined by DJ Johnson, a fellow parenting coach and my first guest dad on the podcast. With a specialty in working with teens, he’ll share with us his personal parenting philosophies and how he’s been working with parents to inspire and motivate them to build healthy and genuine connections with their kids.

A true village doesn’t try tearing down its members. We can work towards listening and supporting one another so we are the best versions of ourselves, and in turn, position our kids to be their own best selves too. So don’t miss out on this amazing episode!

Episode Highlights:

  • How DJ Johnson got into the parenting work and his experiences working with parents
  • How working with teens gave him a unique perspective on interacting with kids
  • As a parent, you need to learn to put your ego and pride aside
  • His six modules on how to parent without punishment
  • It’s okay to feel frustrated or mad, but consider how you model them
